Night time training

Tonight I decided Jack was ready to go through the night without any nappy or pull up on.
He has gone to bed in a pair of pants and his pyjamas.

I did put a water-proof bed sheet on (just incase) and spoke very calmly to Jack before he went to sleep. I encouraged Jack to go for a wee before he went to bed. I then explained if he needed a wee in the night to get up and go to the toilet and if he was to have an accident then to come in and wake me up. *Fingers crossed* it's as easy as the daytime training was.

I'll keep you updated!
If you have any tips or advice I would love to hear them. Please post them in a comment below!

Thrilling Thursday!

Today my pop'n'gro nappies arrived!!
It felt like christmas when the postman knocked on the door! He handed me a big brown box! My eye must have lite up LOL! As soon as I had signed for it; I closed the door and began to open the box frantically. As I opened the box I felt like a ray of light came out (the kind you see on a cartoon!)

I began to unpack the nappies touching and opening each one! I loaded then into the washing machine to get them washed and ready to use. Once they had washed I had the mission of drying them all. I hung them on my clothes airer to dry; they looked so pritty all the aqua, green and yellow nappies.

Tomorrow will be the day I convert from disposibles to reusables. Tonight Jack went to bed in one; I hope it doesn't leak!

Nappies drying!

I also cooked a super yummy dinner! I made pork, apple, mushroom and yellow pepper kebabs with vegtable rice. It was really nice and even Jack enjoyed the smaller one I made him.

I have started to cook alot more home-cooked meals for Jack and I have noticed he enjoys eatting more! He must be a growing boy! He always seems to be eatting; he never seems satisfied. Typical male I guess!

Just beore they went in the oven.

Served and ready to be eatten!

Happy, Happy, Happy!!

Today is another beautiful day; the sun is shining and I have my windows open to left some of the spring air in!

I feel like a massive weight has been lifted off my back; I have completed my assignments for my university course and submitted them.
Jack has been very good today; considering I have been sat on the computer most of the day.

I have also got an email through to say my reusable nappies have been dispatched. Only another few days until I can officially say I am doing my part to make the world green! My reusable wipes have arrived and they are lovely and soft; I wish I could use them on my bum!!

Last night I left Jack to feed himself a yogurt; he managed to get about 40% into his mouth I think; the other 60% ended up on the top, highchair and floor! After expressing himself and really enjoying playing in the yogurt, I had to tackle the clean down! I stripped Jack to his vest and just put everything else in the dishwasher!

"I love this face! Jack pulls it all the time; if he knows he has done something he shouldn't, if he is shocked, if he has seen something he likes! It's so funny because he makes the 'ooooo' sounds too!"

Also, Jack had a few Jaffa Cakes before bed; couldn't say no as I was sat eatting them!

"Jacks new saying sounds something like 'up there' and he points too!"

Becoming an Eco Mummy!

I have decided to ditch disposable nappies and start using resuable nappies and wipes! After reading an article from the Telegraph; I couldn't belive it. After sitting down and working out; on average a parent spends close to £800 in the first two years on nappies; using close to 6000 nappies in the first two years!
I am so excited about becoming an eco friendly mummy!

I have ordered my nappies & wipes; I just can't wait for them to arrived!I have chosen to use Lollipop Pop'n'Gro as it is an easy nappy to use and it will adjust as Jack grows. I just wish I started using them sooner. They are going to save me loads of money!!

The pop'n'gro is made with highly absorbent microfibe which is covered in supersoft fleece lining which means Jack will always be dry and comfortable. Each nappy comes with 2 booster; but can be used unboosted too.

I think I have found a super deal too. I have ordered a night and day pack which includes:
  • 10 pop'n'gro nappies
  • 5 bamboo nappies
  • 2 covers
  • 200 liners
All this for just £175!! (Which works out to be roughly £11.66 per nappy!)

When they arrive I will post my thoughts and write a review. They are one of the cheapest reusable nappies on the market. I hope they work on Jacks bum!!
